Compilation that celebrates the life and outstanding career of Leontyne Price, one of the 20th century’s most important and beloved sopranos. The works featured are some of her most iconic performances at the Metropolitan Opera, from the remarkable title role in the world premiere of Samuel Barber’s Anthony and Cleopatra—the opera that opened the new house in 1966—to her stage farewell as Aida in 1985.
