In the occasion of
the first international tour in over two decades, a new identity was created
for the Met Orchestra, one of the best classical music ensembles in the world. The
new mark, simple and recognizable, is an extension of the Metropolitan Opera
identity—designed by Pentagram’s Paula Scher—in an effort to maintain a
cohesive visual language across the multiple branches of the Met. The tour—a series
of concerts in Paris, London, and Baden-Baden led by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the
Met’s Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director—took place in the Summer of 2023.
